About the Role
Ever wanted a job where your work shapes critical infrastructure and protects the environment?
As an Estimator at Evergreen Environmental Lining Company (EELCO), you’ll be the brain behind the build — developing accurate bids, analyzing specifications, and helping win projects that safeguard communities through landfill liners, wastewater ponds, and energy-sector containment systems.
No two bids are the same, but every one matters.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare Estimates: Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to create clear, competitive proposals.
Perform Takeoffs: Calculate quantities for geomembranes (HDPE, LLDPE), geotextiles, GCLs, and related materials.
Build Cost Models: Develop detailed labor, equipment, and freight cost estimates with transparent assumptions.
Spot the Gaps: Identify missing scope items, risk factors, and draft clarifications or RFIs.
Work with Partners: Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and freight providers to secure pricing.
Support Project Handoff: Ensure smooth transition of estimates to project management.
Track Data: Maintain production rates, pricing history, and benchmarking tools to sharpen future bids.
Collaborate: Work directly with leadership, project managers, and field teams to align estimating with real-world practices.
What You Bring:
Work Ethic: You’re detail-driven, disciplined, and take pride in accurate, complete bids.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (tables, formulas) — bonus if you’ve used CRM/estimating software.
Industry Knowledge: Background in geosynthetics, civil, or environmental construction preferred.
Communication: Clear writing and confident communication with engineers, owners, and contractors.
Problem-Solving: Ability to balance detail with big-picture strategy.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Geosynthetics estimating experience (geomembrane, GCL, geotextile, etc.)
Familiarity with GRI-GM13, GRI-GCL3, or related industry standards
3–5+ years in estimating or project engineering in heavy civil/environmental construction
Experience drafting RFIs, substitution requests, or clarifications
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $85,000–$110,000 DOE
Performance-based incentives and growth opportunities
Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays
Professional development and advancement in a growing company
